AstraVeda is a digital astrology-reading service provided by TheDhingraStudio, operated by Chhavi Dhingra, based in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India.

This Privacy Policy explains how AstraVeda collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal data when you visit the website, request a free or paid reading, make a payment, download a report, or contact us.

1. Information We Collect

To provide your requested reading, we may collect:

  • Your name;
  • Your date of birth, birth time, and stated place of birth;
  • Geographic coordinates, timezone, and daylight-saving information derived from your stated place of birth;
  • Your selected reading type, focus area, and forecast horizon;
  • Calculated chart data, including planetary placements, ascendant, nakshatra, dasha information, and related chart factors;
  • Your generated report and report-delivery or download activity;
  • Support correspondence you send to us;
  • Limited technical and security information, such as IP address, browser information, timestamps, session identifiers, error logs, and payment-status records.

When you make a purchase through PayPal, PayPal processes your payment credentials. We do not receive or store your complete card number, bank-account details, PayPal password, or other payment-login credentials. We may receive limited transaction information needed to confirm payment, prevent fraud, answer billing questions, and handle disputes, such as an order or transaction reference, amount, currency, status, and payment timestamp.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal data only as needed to:

  • Calculate chart factors from the birth data you provide;
  • Generate, display, download, and deliver the requested free or paid report;
  • Verify a payment before generating a paid report;
  • Provide customer support and respond to privacy, billing, deletion, or refund requests;
  • Protect AstraVeda against fraud, abuse, duplicate payments, security incidents, and technical misuse;
  • Maintain the website, records, and systems used to provide the service;
  • Meet legal, tax, accounting, payment-dispute, and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not use your birth data for advertising or direct marketing.

3. Basis for Processing

Where applicable data-protection law requires a lawful basis, we process your information because it is necessary to provide the reading or purchase you request, to meet legal obligations, to protect the security and integrity of AstraVeda, or where you have given consent for an optional activity.

4. Service Providers and Data Sharing

We use selected third-party providers to operate AstraVeda. Depending on the feature you use, this may include:

  • PayPal, which processes payments. PayPal acts independently in relation to payment processing and handles payment information under its own privacy practices. See the PayPal Privacy Statement.
  • OpenAI, which helps generate the written portions of eligible reports. We may send the limited birth data, calculated chart information, selected focus area, forecast horizon, and report-generation instructions needed for that purpose. We do not send payment credentials to OpenAI. See OpenAI’s data-use information.
  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim, which may help convert a stated birthplace into geographic coordinates. We send the birthplace text you provide, not your complete birth profile or payment data.
  • Hosting, database, security, and infrastructure providers, which help us run, secure, back up, and maintain AstraVeda.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, to investigate or prevent fraud or security issues, to protect rights and users, or in connection with a business reorganisation or transfer.

5. International Processing

AstraVeda is operated from India. Your information may be processed in India and in other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from the laws in your country of residence.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to generate and deliver your report, provide support, maintain security, handle payment or dispute records, and meet legal or accounting obligations.

Because AstraVeda currently does not provide customer accounts, completed reports are not promised to remain available indefinitely. You should download and save a report once it becomes available.

Where a fixed retention period is not required, we determine retention by the purpose for which the information was collected, the need to resolve support or payment matters, legal obligations, and the need to protect the service. We delete, anonymise, or securely retain information when it is no longer needed for those purposes. You may request deletion earlier, subject to information we are required or permitted to retain for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, payment-dispute, or security reasons.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction or objection to certain processing, and a portable copy of information you provided to us.

To make a request, email info@astraveda.thedhingrastudio.com with the subject line Privacy Request. Please provide enough information for us to locate the relevant report or transaction, such as the name used, approximate report date, and, where applicable, your PayPal transaction reference. Do not send card numbers, bank-account details, passwords, or other payment credentials by email.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data. However, no website, online service, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information by email.

9. Children

AstraVeda is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a paid reading. Do not submit personal data for a child unless you are their parent or legal guardian and are authorised to do so.

10. Cookies

AstraVeda uses essential session and security technologies needed to operate the service. PayPal may also use cookies or similar technologies as part of its checkout and fraud-prevention processes. Please see our Cookie Policy for more information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes apply from the date they are published unless we state otherwise.
